A whale carcass sitting in the dark on the ocean floor can support its own local ecology of thousands of creatures for 50 years. (sharks, brittle stars, shrimp)

Thought I found a nice park atop a hill overlooking the ocean, beside Trinity Cemetery. Turns out it was basically just a hilltop.

Back at Victoria Park. A few business folk here catching a breath over lunch. I wonder from where?

An older gentleman in the corner shop talked of how Aberdeen is a terrible city after the oil money came in. The kids drink and do foolish things. Says, even as an Aberdonian, the people in Edinburgh are much nicer.

The park was Victoria Park, a welcome reprieve from all the stone. My friend was right, it really is grey here. Walls, houses. It all at once gives the place a village charm & makes it dull.

A fine park, huge, with smells of different flowers as you walk along. And birds singing the whole time. Dad and kids playing football, a couple joggers about. The latter seem out of place in the serenity here.

Just explored the local Woolsworth. Not too different from a Zellers except they have "Smooth Apple Juice" with a hint of Barley and a voice that tells you which cash register to go to.

Customs asked a lot of questions about how long I'm staying, where, whether I've a job to go back to. I need to get my story straight.

Passing the NE boundary of the Canada maps loaded on the N810. Shame...
