It's pouring. We're sitting in a Costa Café in the middle of a huge bookstore, Waterstone's. Not too different from Starbucks & Chapters but this is definitely more of a venue with a low stage across one side.

Symbols of power were such a huge deal. They'd hide them in other castles if threatened, create replicas when they were stolen, and then melt down the originals to show that the power had transfered to the new versions.

Taking a drink of J2O after walking on the beach barefoot. Frederique is sitting on one of the couches in the Three Monkeys pub writing in a brand new notebook and I'm about to load up the laptop. I might have to come back here before I leave, this is great.

Booking opera tix over the phone was amusing. First, Skype mic was off an' he kept saying "hello?" Then I didn't know my postal code... got the tix, though, and heading out very soon!

I wonder if the rapid beeping from the crossing light makes people cross faster because of the sense of urgency it gives.
