Radiohead at Glasgow Green

The stage at the Radiohead concert was dazzling but we were a little far away to see much of the band itself.
After the Radiohead concert, one of my flat mates effused about how it was the best concert she'd been to, how the music was amazing and wonderful, and how the entire event was transcendental. Yes, despite broken English, she managed to bring up the word transcendental to describe how she felt about the concert.
For me the experience was a little less life-changing but I certainly had a good time.
Luckily, I heard a lot of tunes I recognized. My listening habits often restrict me to one or two albums from each band and Radiohead is no different. I listen to OK Computer and Amnesiac. Outside of those two albums I only know Creep and a couple songs off The Bends that I learned on guitar ages ago.
In the week leading up to the concert I also started listening to In Rainbows, and a good thing, too! There was a lot of that at the show. They played both songs that caught my attention in the last week: 15 Step and Weird Fishes/Arpeggi.
Highlights of the show include Karma Police, Fake Plastic Trees, and Idiotheque. I was also really surprised and happy to hear Like Spinning Plates.
Unfortunately, the show was on the large, wet field that is Glasgow Green and we were pretty far back. This meant we couldn't see much of the band except through the large screens mounted on either side of the stage. It also meant we didn't focus on the band the entire night and spent a good deal of time laughing, poking fun at words Canadians say, and trading hats.
It was great fun and in a strange way, liberating.
