Less Than One Week to Go!

Must... resist... temptation to sing lyrics to that song about the jetplane... Photo by Bill Frazzetto.
So I'm leaving June 5th—one week yesterday—and naturally I'm not nearly ready for the trip.
I still have to decide what I'm packing, I need to put the things I'm leaving behind in storage, and all of a sudden I've got more work from a couple of clients... not that I can really complain about having work! But to add to the mix, I'm also playing the last gig with my band, MELD tomorrow. Can you stack it any higher?
Fortunately, plans for the next month or so have come together. I'm starting in Aberdeen, staying in different hotels the first couple nights to sleep off jet lag, catch up on work, and get started on hotel reviews. After that it's a week at what appears to be the only hostel in Aberdeen. Here, I hope to settle into my new lifestyle, whatever that may be.
In mid-June I'll switch out to Edinburgh to meet a good friend and fellow Flash geek who's been living in the U.K. since March. I hear Edinburgh is beautiful and I'll have a buddy in town so I'll be staying there about a month.
| Excitement | "Wow, I'm so going to Europe!" |
| Disbelief | "Wow, this is so surreal!" |
| Shrieking Terror | "Wow, there's so much to do!" |

I've been alternating between fits of excitement, disbelief, and preparation anxiety and I can't wait to be on that plane!
